Berita Hari Ini - Perdana Menteri nikah dengan Jeanne Abdullah, Sabtu, 9 Jun ini

Berikut disiarkan kenyataan media yang disiarkan oleh laman rasmi Jabatan Perdana Menteri bertarikh 6 Jun 2007.

KENYATAAN MEDIA MENGENAI PENGUMUMAN MAJLIS AKAD NIKAH YAB PERDANA MENTERI

Dengan sukacitanya dimaklumkan bahawa YAB Perdana Menteri Dato’ Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi akan melangsungkan majlis akad nikah dengan Jeanne Abdullah pada hari Sabtu 9 Jun 2007 bersamaan dengan 23 Jamadilawwal 1428 Hijrah.

Jeanne Abdullah dilahirkan di Kuala Lumpur pada 29 Julai 1953 dan merupakan anak sulung daripada empat orang adik-beradik. Beliau menerima pendidikan di Sekolah Menengah Assunta dan mempunyai pengalaman yang luas dalam bidang pentadbiran dan penghotelan setelah terlibat dalam pengurusan beberapa hotel terkemuka di Malaysia, termasuk Hotel Hilton Kuala Lumpur dan Hotel Pan Pacific. Jeanne juga pernah bertugas sebagai Pengelola kediaman rasmi Timbalan Perdana Menteri dan Pengurus Kompleks Seri Perdana.

Jeanne mempunyai dua orang anak, Nadiah dan Nadene.

Majlis berkenaan akan diadakan di Seri Perdana dan akan dihadiri oleh keluarga terdekat sahaja

Tahniah diucapkan kpd YAB Perdana Menteri Malaysia.

Berita Semalam - Loganathan Arumugam of the Alleycats has passed away.

My condolences goes out to his family on his passing.

I was a great fan of Alleycats (nowadays dah jarang dengar lagu depa, tapi dulu masa sekolah siap hafal semua lirik lagu ..hehehe).

For those not from Malaysia, Alleycats is a local home grown group which was formed way back in 1969 and they've been producing evergreen hits for as long as I can remember. Their popularity has spread to countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Hong Kong and other SEA countries to name a few.

I doubt there would be anyone in Malaysia who has not heard of Alleycats. The band is fronted by its two founding members, David Arumugam and his late brother Loganathan Arumugam.

His wife said Loga had been suffering from a bad cough for about a year, but was diagnosed with lung cancer only eight months ago.
“We went to so many doctors and none of them could tell us what was wrong until he was sent for a CT scan. By then, the cancer was already in the third stage. ", she said.

“He never felt sorry for himself – he just said, 'now that we know, let's deal with it'.
“Before he closed his eyes for the last time, he smiled and told me to be strong,” she said.

The group started by playing in clubs around the country before signing a recording deal with PolyGram Records in 1978.

The Alleycats have 30 albums to their credit and are one of Malaysia’s favourite bands, with evergreen hits like Sampaikan Salam, Andainya Aku Pergi Dulu Sebelum Mu and Sekuntum Mawar Merah.

As I promised I'll post the cross-stitch projects done by my eldest daughter Asma' when she was 9 years old, which was 11 years ago!

Actually there are 3 instead of 2 as I mentioned yesterday. The one I missed is actually the phrase "BismillahirRahmannirRahim" , which means 'With the Name Of Allah The Most Gracious and Most Merciful'.
I hang it above the main entrance to our house.

The first project she did was a simple one with the word 'Mother', flowers and a butterfly.

During year-end school holiday, she did another project with ABCs and numbers.

I still have many leftover of DMC floss used for these cross-stitch projects, and I keep it nicely in an organizer that has many small translucent drawers so that I can see the color of the floss.....well who knows maybe one day I'll find time and sit down relaxing and trying in another postponed project! OR I will pass it down to the next and next generation ....as a keepsake....

Hobby 1 - Cross-Stitching

A hobby is something that one likes to do for pleasure in ones spare time. I have a number of hobbies which I love to do (sigh...nowadays very hard to find time to just enjoy doing one of my hobbies)..

In this entry I would like to write about one of my hobbies, which is cross-stitching... since I was single, I would spend some of my savings on the cross-stitch materials even though it was quite expensive. I think the last time I did a cross-stitching was 10 years ago!!!

When I was studying in USA, I used to subscribe cross-stitch magazines to get the beautifully designed patterns. Most of my cross-stitch collections are from these magazines: Herbs & Spices and Gardens.
I still have a few designs that I wanted very badly to do but (sigh*) don't know when I will find time again... (maybe tunggu I pencen nanti... tapi at that time mata pun dah rabun...hahaha)

Here are some of my collections that I'm proudly hang on the walls of my home.... (puas hati sungguh tengok hasil kerja tangan sendiri tergantung kat dinding...)

and this hobby is inherited by my daughter Asma' , but i don't think she has the time to do it right now becoz very busy studying.... but I have 2 designs which she made when she was 9 years old! I hang it in my office but wait...I'll take a snap of it and post it later....
